Please note: Always make sure that you are peronsally satisfied with a tradesman prior to hiring them. Here are some suggestions to follow prior to hiring:

• Ask to view samples of your shortlisted tradesmen's work - particularly for bigger jobs. Talk to previous customers, an architect or engineer that they have worked with etc.
• Physically check that their public liability insurance is valid and up-to-date.
• Always enter a formal contract using a recognised contract structure that details the exact specification of work to be completed and a schedule of payments. This may save headaches and disputes down the line.
